Understanding the Results

What These Results Mean

Public IP details help show where your current connection reaches the internet. Each result reflects only the network characteristics seen by the API, not connection quality or privacy by itself.

Public IP

This is the public address visible to websites and online services. Run the lookup again after connecting to a VPNJN route; if the result changes with the selected route, your web requests are using a new network exit.

Country or Region

Location is inferred from an IP address database, not the device’s exact position. Databases update at different rates, so newly assigned or reallocated addresses may occasionally show an outdated location.

Internet Service Provider

The ISP field identifies the network operator associated with the public IP. On international routes, it may show a data center, cloud network or transit provider rather than the name of your access network.

Proxy Detection

This status comes from the API’s analysis of IP attributes. Address databases can be delayed or inaccurate: a detected proxy does not mean the connection is faulty, and no detection alone is not proof of privacy.

DNS Check

DNS Leak Check

An IP lookup shows only the exit used for web requests; it cannot directly list the DNS resolvers in use. Check the client mode, system network settings and browser settings together.

  1. Confirm the Client Connection

    First confirm in the VPNJN client that the target route is connected, then check whether the client uses rule mode or global mode. In rule mode, different domains may use different exits according to the rules.

  2. Check System DNS Settings

    Open the details for the current system network connection and check whether DNS is assigned automatically or manually. If an old manual address remains, confirm that it matches the current network setup.

  3. Check Browser Secure DNS

    Your browser may use its own Secure DNS and bypass system settings. If a separate resolver is configured, confirm that it matches the intended setup, then close and reopen the page.

  4. Check Again After Switching Routes

    Switch to another route and check the public IP again, then review the DNS settings in your system and browser. If the web exit has changed but DNS still points to the old network, update the settings and reconnect.
